1. There are many reasons to buy used auto parts. First and perhaps foremost is the impact on the environment. Everything and anything that is manufactured has a negative impact for the environment, pollution etc. But if that same part instead of being scraped or thrown away can still be used, then it is a positive result for the environment. Second the impact on your wallet is also reduced. Used parts are significantly more affordable then new parts, that is parts directly from the manufacturer, such as GM or Ford etc. Generally they are also more affordable then the aftermarket industry. The third reason for buying a good used part is availabilty. More and more new parts are being discontinued sometimes after only 4 or 5 years of production. Other parts are days and sometimes weeks away. Our parts are stocked and most are on the shelf ready to go. The rest of our computerized inventory is within minutes of being ready for you to take home.




2. Yes you do get a warranty! Our minimum warranty is 30 days, but you do have an option for an extended warranty of up to 1 full year. Drivetrain parts can be warrantied for up to 6 full months. All our parts have the option of a full one year or 12 month warranty. The warranty is as follows:

6 MONTH LIMITED WARRANTY

The following will show exactly what is covered under this extended warranty.

Motors

This part is warranted for 6 months under normal driving conditions. They are guaranteed against engine knock and excessive smoking. This warranty is void if engines have been dissembled before our inspection. Accessories which may come with the motor, but are not part of the sale such as carburetors, fuel injectors, water pumps, exhaust manifolds, spark plugs, and wiring are not covered under the extended warranty unless otherwise stated on the sales invoice. Leaks such as rear main seals, oil pan gasket, valve cover gaskets, exhaust gaskets etc are not covered under this warranty, and we strongly recommend that these are replaced at the time installation. Hoses, belts and timing chains or belts are not guaranteed. Please replace as necessary. Thermostats are not guaranteed and are strongly recommended to be change and may affect your warranty.

Transmissions and Transfer Cases

This part is warranted for 6 months under normal driving conditions. They are guaranteed against slippage, loss of gears. This warranty is void if transmissions have been dismantled prior to our inspection. We recommend a new filter and gasket, if it has not been changed prior to sale. Improperly installed lines, torque converters, linkage and mounting bolts may void your warranty. All lines must be properly flushed with a transmission line flush kit. Radiators must be in proper working condition and may void this guarantee.

Rear and Front Differentials, Driveshafts, Axles

These parts are warranted for 6 months under normal driving conditions. They are guaranteed against loss of gears, loss of use. Splines on axles as well as driveshafts are covered. We recommend new u-joints, unless we have previously installed them. Improper installation of parts, linkage, fluids, or gaskets may void your warranty.

ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

This used part comes with a conditional 1 YEAR warranty. The warranty covers the part, not any labour in relation to the part. If the part requires warranty it will be a part replacement warranty, not a cash back warranty. The following will show exactly what is covered under this extended warranty. This warranty will cover parts installed in cars and trucks in stock condition. For example altered vehicles ex. lifted or otherwise altered vehicles may void your warranty.

This warranty covers all defects, breakdowns or poor performance with the part. If the part has been dissembled the warranty will be void.




3. The warranty on electrical parts is similiar to that of an automotive manufacturers warranty. We can warranty electrical parts for up to one year. We do not however warranty the diagnoses of your electrical parts. As with new or aftermarket parts we would be unable to refund a part that is non-defective.




4. Used parts are not all necessarily 50% of a new one. Often times they are less then 50% of a new one. At times though depending on the availablity, or demand then some used parts are worth more then are other used parts where the demand is much lower.




5. A core charge is when you pay an extra charge to bring your old part back. Some used parts do come with a core charge. Most however do not. This is also a benefit to you the customer. When buying new or aftermarket often times getting the core charge back to you requires that your broken part must be rebuildable. If not then your core charge is not payed back to you. If our part does happen to have a core charge on it you will be advised of that before you buy. And if the part, perhaps a tranny etc is not rebuildable then you will still receive your core charge back upon return.




6. While we are very concerned about the well being of our environment, our eco fees are always built into the price of our parts, no extra charges to you the customer. This may seem like a small thing, but in reality our environmental charges are quite extensive. The cost of recycling things such as oil, antifreeze, air conditioning refridgerant, tires etc are very costly. Add to that the fact that we recycle hundreds of vehicles in a year and those costs jump significantly!! But no extra charges will be added to your bill including material or tire fees!!




7. Aftermarket parts at times do seem to be just slightly more expensive then a good used one. Often there is benefits of buying a used over an aftermarket that must be taken into account. For example when you buy an aftermarket alternator you are not necessarily getting one with the correct pulley or with one at all. On doors, new and aftermarket they are strictly a shell, no hinges, hardware, glass, handles, latches etc. Hoods unlike used don't come with mouldings, liners, latches. Wiper motors don't come with the circuit board which is generally why many fail to begin with. These are all extra costs that a customer should take into account when choosing what part is right for him or her.




8. Of course we cannot have every part, for every car in stock. Many are simply too popular to keep in stock. In that case we are set up with a variety of alternative searching methods. A couple of these are our quick search eden exchange and eden locate systems. Eden exchange gives us 10 of our business partners yards (throughout British Columbia) inventory instantly, no need to call you back we can answer on these parts on your first call. Eden locates take 10-30 seconds and give us 1,700 yards inventory at our finger tips. Finally we are on a system of Recycling yards, Insurance companies, bodyshops etc, that allow to run for used parts, even those parts that don't have an actual interchange number. If your part is out there, then we can find it.
